Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Chester Councilman Carr and duly carried that the appointed Member of City Clerk be instructed to reply to same First Supervisorial informing Mr. Legg that Councilman Chester District Public was appointed by the City Council to re- works Committee. present the City at the meeting of the First Supervisorial District Public Works Committee. The matter of placing a Neon Sign at the Matter of placing intersection of Azusa Avenue and Holt sign referred to the Avenue was discussed. Superintendent of the Light and Water Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Department. Councilman Carr that the erection and pur- chase of this sign be referred to the Superintendent of Light and Water to report back at the next regular meeting. Councilman McIntire offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPOINTING A MANAGER AND LIFE GUARD RESOLUTION NO. 1451 OF THE AZUSA CITY PLUNGE AND FIXING THEIR ADOPTED SALARY. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1451. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester. Noes: None. Absent: Mayor Morden. Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY RESOLUTION NO. 1452 OF AZUSA, LOS ANGEIE S COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTED. TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) FROM THE LIGHT FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND. 195 CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. JUNE 17, 1935. 7:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. 11 Present at roll call: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Mayor Morden. The minutes of the last regular meeting of June 3rd and the special Session of June 12, 1935 were read and approved as read. Moved and carried that the monthly report Report of the Los of the Los Angeles County Health Department Angeles County Health be placed on file. Department filed. A communication signed by Cornelius Smith, Secretary of the Azusa Chamber of Commerce was offered. Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TO SUPPLY FUNDS TO THE CITY OF AZUSA FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING FOR MATERIALS AND TRUCK HIRE IN CONNECTION WITH THE IMPROVEMENT OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1453. Burnett request- ing a refund on taxes paid on property occupied by Southern Counties Gas Company was read.
