RESOLUTION NO. 5963
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA CONGRATULATING THE BASKET-
BALL TEAM OF AZUSA PACIFIC COLLEGE FOR
WINNING THE NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE
YEAR.
WHEREAS, Azusa Pacific College is a private
college dedicated to the development of Christian leadership
and good sportmanship; and
WHEREAS, Coach Cliff Hamlow has successfully
coached the college basketball team and, under his leadership,
the college basketball team has won the National Christian
College Championship for four consecutive years; and
WHEREAS, principles of Christian leadership
and sportsmanship have been key qualities in the team's
success;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City
of Azusa does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Each member of the basketball team
of Azusa Pacific College and the team's coach, Cliff Hamlow,
are congratulated upon winning the 1972 National Christian
College Championship. Azusa Pacific College is congratulated
for its ability to develop teams capable of winning the
National Christian College Championship in each of the last
four years and which exemplify not only athletic ability but
good sportsmanship and Christian leadership.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to
the adoption of this resolution.
Adopted and approved this 3rd day of April, 1972.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of April, 1972,
by the following vote of Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Decker, Snyder, Clark, Solem
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None
City Clerk
