Carried by the following vote of the Pacific Electric Council: Land Company taxes Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, adjusted. Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noesl None. Absent: None. Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, A communication from Mame B. Beaty, Clerk of the Los Angeles County Board of Communication from Supervisors, relative to the improvement the Los Angeles of Streets with the County allocation of County Board of the Gasoline Tas Fund, was read. Supervisors referred Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by to Councilman Chester Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by to report back. Councilman Carr that same be referred to authorized to draw Councilman Chester to report back at the policy covering next regular meeting. Lighting Standards. The matter of adjustment on the assessed value of Lot 48 of Subdivision Number 2, Azusa Land and Water Company, owned by the Pacific Electric Land Company, was dis- cussed. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Pacific Electric Councilman Carr that the assessment of this Land Company taxes lot be reduced from $24,315. to $22,110. adjusted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. The matter of insuring 100 Marbelite Standards on Foothill Boulevard was dis- cussed. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Owens-Vosburg Councilman.Arnold that the City Clerk Insurance Agency Instruct Owens-Vosburg Insurance Agency to authorized to draw draw a policy to cover the Standards for policy covering one year, the premium to be $150.00 Lighting Standards. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Arnold that the City Treasurer, Wm. J. Holden, be authorized and instruct- ed to act as fiscal Officer and Paul E. Kressly, City Engineer, be authorized and instructed to act as Sponsor's Agent in the matter of application for projects filed by the City of Azusa with Works Program Administration. Mr. Ben Spriggs applied for permission to use the Auditorium on Tuesday, October 29, 1935. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Carr that same be granted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire that the Budget for City Treasurer and City Engineer authorized to re- present City of Azusa. Ben Spriggs granted permission to use Auditorium. 236. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. 1 237 MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING. SEPTEMBER 31 1935. 7:30 P.M. the.year 1935-36, prepared by the firm of Crenshaw, Diehl & Wright, be adopted. 1935-36 Budget Carried by the following vote of the adopted. Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold,Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Arnold that the Council adjourn Executive session. and go into executive session for thirty minutes. Whereupon the Council retired for Ex- ecutive Session. In thirty minutes the meeting was resumed. Angel Marques, through.his interpreter, Angel Marquis denied Joe Lopez, again requested permission to license to operate operate a pool hall at 231 Soldano Avenue. Pool Hall. Vincente Cruz presented a petition with 44 names attached thereto, petitioning the Council to deny this request. City Attorney Miller explained to Mr. Lopez that the Council were unable to grant this license at the present time due to the opposition expressed by the neighbors in that vicinity. No further action taken. The matter of placing a new roof on the Fire Hall was discussed with Frank Mason. ' Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Frank Mason instructed Councilman Chester that Mr. Mason be to place new roof on instructed to construct a new roof on the Fire Hall. Fire Hall, guaranteed for fifteen years at a cost of $124.00. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Chief of Police Bierbower filed the monthly report of the Police Department. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by City Engineer instruct - Councilman Arnold that the City Engineer ed to change Works be instructed to change the applications Projects from PWA to for Relief Projects from the PWA to the WPA. WPA. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Chester offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIF- RESOLUTION NO. 1462 ORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK ADOPTED. TO SIGN WARRANTS TO COVER EXPENSES OF CITY OFFICIALS WHO ATTEND LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA MUNICIPALITIES CONVENTION. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1462. RHODES. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Arnold that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1463. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Chester offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIF- ORNIA, TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF SIX THOUS- AND DOLLARS ($6000.00) FROM THE LIGHT RESERVE FUND TO THE WATER RESERVE FUND, AND THIRTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS (13,000.00) FROM THE WATER RESERVE FUND TO THE WATER 'FUND. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by ' Councilman McIntire that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1464. Councilman Carr offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING AND ENTERING INTO THE PURCHASE OF AGREAGE IN LOT 66 OF MAP OF SUBDIVISION NUMBER 2, AZUSA LAND AND WATER COMPANY. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1465.
