HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6115RESOLUTION NO. 6115 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4693 BY AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS FOR RECREATION SUPERVISOR AND ASSISTANT ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: ' SECTION 1. The classification specifications attached to Resolution No. 4693, adopted July 20, 1964, as amended, are hereby further amended by substituting the classification specifications for Recreation Supervisor which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof in place of the classification specifications for Recreation Supervisor attached to said Resolution No. 4693. SECTION 2. The classification specifications attached to Resolution No. 4693, adopted July 20, 1964, as amended, are hereby further amended by substituting the classification specifications for Assistant Animal Control Officer which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof in place of the classification specifications for Assistant Animal Control Officer attached to said Resolution No. 4693. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 2nd day of July , 1973. I hereby certify that adopted by the City Council of meeting thereof held on the 2nd the following vote of the Council: the foregoing resolution was du the City of Azusa at a regular day of July , 1973, by AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Decker, Snyder, Clark, Solem NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT: Councilmen: None City Clerk ly r • RECREATION SUPERVISOR ' E-2(1) Job Summary Under direction, plans, organizes and directs the recreational activities of several assigned playgrounds and recreational areas; aids in coordinating the recreational program of the City; and does related work as required, Representative Duties , Plans, organizes and directs the recreational programs of several playgrounds, play areas and recreational areas; trains personnel in recreational leading and supervision; helps develop and coordinate the recreational program of the City; conducts meetings with the staff; evaluates personnel and their performance of duties assigned; aids in the preparation of departmental publicity; meets: with parents and civic groups to discuss the recreational progtdins.; aids in preparation of the department budget request; may make special surveys and studies of programs and the public use of facilities. Organizational Relationships Recreation Supervisor is a full time position in the Recreation Department, An employee of this class reports to the Director of Parks and Recreation and supervises several Playground Directors, Recreation Leaders, Recreation Helpers and Volunteers, QUALIFICATION GUIDE Training and Experience Minimum Requirements; A BA degree or equivalent college training in recreation, physical education or related field; and Two years of experience in organized recreation including exper- ience in a responsible leadership capacity. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge'of the principles and techniques of planning and directing social recreation activities; knowledge of the principles of organizing and directing team sports programs; knowledge of the principles of supervision; ability to plan and direct a varied recreation program; ability to supervise effectively the work of subordinates; ability to organize and present written and oral reports; ability to work effectively with superiors, subordinates and the public, License Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license from the State of California, Registration with the California Board of Recreation Personnel is desirable. ASSISTANT ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER K-12 Job Summary Under direction of the Animal Control Officer, cleans the City Pound, assists in licensing, impounding and disposal of animals, patrols city, picking up animals, and does related work as required. Representative Duties Cleans the City Pound daily; cares for impounded animals; patrols city as directed picking up all animals, strays, relinquished or killed; quarantines animals that have bitten any person; prepares reports as required. In the absence of the Animal Control Officer, collects fees for licenses, impounds and other authorized services and deposits fees with the City Clerk on a daily basis. Organizational Responsibilities Assistant Animal Control Officer is a one position classification, responsible to the Animal Control Officer and the Police Department, Services Division Commander.. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience Graduation from high school, or completion of eighth grade plus one year's experience in related field. Knowledge and Abilities Should have knowledge of various breeds of dogs and ability to identify ill animals. Licenses Must possess a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
