HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6100RESOLUTION NO. 6100 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4693 BY AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS FOR MAINTENANCE MAN III. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The classification specifications attached to Resolution No. 4693, adopted July 20, 1964, as amended, are hereby further amended by substituting the classification specifications for Maintenance Man III which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof in place of the classification specifications for Maintenance Man III attached to said Resolution No. 4693. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 18th day of June , 1973. Mayor I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of June , 1973, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Decker, Snyder, Clark, Solem NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT: Councilmen: None City Clerk- Job Summary 0 MAINTENANCE MAN 111 H-10 Under supervision, performs skilled tasks in construction such as masonry, cement finishing work, carpentry, operation of heavy equip- ment or other equally skilled assignments in the Street Division, Representative Duties Operates heavy construction equipment such as the backhoe and skip loader, builds and repaints retaining walls and other structures; per- forms minor maintenance work on motorized equipment and makes simple electrical connections. Repairs and finishes sidewalks and cement blocks and block construction. Puts in sub -grades; and performs other related duties. Organizational Responsibilities This is the skilled worker in the Street Division. An employee in this class reports to the Street Maintenance Foreman who supervises several crews performing skilled tasks in the Street Division, The Maintenance Man ill classification is an advanced position in the complement and may supervise personnel performing various job assign- ments. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience Completion of high school, or equivalent; and two years experience in street construction and maintenance, performing the more skilled tasks required in public works activities. Additional skilled experience may substitute for the required high school education on a year -for -year basis, to a maximum of two years. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used in public works maintenance; knowledge of the basic operation of gasoline motors; knowledge of maintenance of sewers and storm drains; knowledge of construction of curbs, gutters, driveway aprons, sidewalks and drains. Ability to operate equipment used in street maintenance or construction. Licenses A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
