HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 63520 0 RESOLUTION NO. 6352 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA URGING REPEAL OF LEGISLATION ESTABLISHING THE "911" EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SYSTEM. WHEREAS, the State Legislature through enactment of Legislation mandated that the State of California establish a "911" Emergency Telephone System, and WHEREAS, all counties and municipalities of the State have attempted faithfully to comply with the required dictates of this Legislation, even though all are aware of the rapidly escalating inflation, and other critical problems facing our State, the Nation, and the World, and WH= REAS, the "911" System though deemed as a valuable possibility at some other, more stable and advantageous time, is not now a project to be entered into; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Azusa as follows: SECTION 1. The Legislature is hereby urged to amend the provisions of Assembly Bill 515 mandating the "911 " Emergency Telephone System, and that it be repealed as expeditiously as possible before more public monies are spent on what is at present an economically and technically unfeasible program. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall transmit copies of this resolution to Governor Edmond G. Brown, Jr., and to the California Legislature, to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, and to the League of California Cities. 1975.
