The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden, City Attorney and City Clerk. The minutes of the last regular meeting of September 16th, the adjourned meeting of September 18th and the Special Session of ' October 1, 1935, were read and approved as read. A protest, signed by seven residents in the neighborhood of 1027 Alameda Avenue, against chickens running at large was offered. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Chester that same be referred to the Chief of Police. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Roll call. Minutes approved. Protest read and re- ferred to the Chief of Police. A communication from Mr. Sweet, attorney for Mr. Marquez, requesting the City Council Mr. Sweet's communication to grant Mr. Marquez a license to operate referred to the City a pool hall, was read. Attorney. Moved and carried that same be referred to the City Attorney. Councilman Chester offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING BUDGET SET FORTH IN PROJECT STATEMENT SUBMITTED TO THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE OF RESOLUTION NO. 1467 CALIFORNIA FOR EXPENDITURE OF 4 CENT GAS ADOPTED. TAX ON STREETS ON MAJOR IMPORTANCE WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1467. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Carr offered a Resolution entitled: ' A RESOLUTION OF THE'CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING BUDGET SET FORTH IN PROJECT STATEMENT SUBMITTED TO THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE OF RESOLUTION NO. 1468 CALIFORNIA FOR EXPENDITURE OF s CENT GAS ADOPTED. TAX ON STATE HIGHWAYS WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1468. MINUTES OF'THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING. Councilman Chester offereda Resolution entitled: OCTOBER 72 1935. 7:30 P.M. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DENYING APPLICATION OF SOUTHERN.CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, LDT. DATED SEPTEMBER 5, 1935, TO BE HEARD ON A PETITION FOR THE EQUALIZATION OF ASSESSMENTS ON ITS PROPERTY APPLICABLE TO 1935-36 TAXES. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Arnold that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1469.. Carried by the following vote of the Counci 1: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chesters Morden. Noes: None: Absent: None. Councilman Arnold offered an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA RELATING TO THE CARE AND EXPENDITURE OF MONEYS RECEIVED FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 5, CHAPTER 10 DIVISION 1 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE. to be read for the second time. This Ordinance was then read. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by ' Councilman Arnold that this Ordinance be adopted as read and numbered Ordinance No. 320. Carried by,the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: -None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Melntire'that the City.Clerk be instructed to return to Mr. Born the $12.00 license fee paid by him to operate a restaurant at 739-41 Azusa Avenue and to request in return City of Azusa business license No. 268. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mr. Kelly, representing the Southern California Edison Company, addressed the ' Council relative to assessed values placed by the State Board of Equalization on property owned by the Company in the City of Azusa. No further action taken. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Carr that the following requisitions be allowed: 1326-1327- 1328-1329 Carried by'the following vote of the Oouncil: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold,- Chester,. Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. 267° RESOLUTION NO. 1469 ADOPTED. ORDINANCE NO. 320 ADOPTED. City Clerk authorized and instructed to return $12.00 license fee to Mr: Born. Mr. Kelly representing the Southern California Edison Uompany addressed the Council. Requisitions allowed.
