The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular meeting of
September 16th, the adjourned meeting of
September 18th and the Special Session of
' October 1, 1935, were read and approved as
read.
A protest, signed by seven residents in the
neighborhood of 1027 Alameda Avenue, against
chickens running at large was offered.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Chester that same be referred to
the Chief of Police.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold,
Chester, Morden.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Roll call.
Minutes approved.
Protest read and re-
ferred to the Chief of
Police.
A communication from Mr. Sweet, attorney
for Mr. Marquez, requesting the City Council Mr. Sweet's communication
to grant Mr. Marquez a license to operate referred to the City
a pool hall, was read. Attorney.
Moved and carried that same be referred to
the City Attorney.
Councilman Chester offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING BUDGET SET FORTH
IN PROJECT STATEMENT SUBMITTED TO THE
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE OF RESOLUTION NO. 1467
CALIFORNIA FOR EXPENDITURE OF 4 CENT GAS ADOPTED.
TAX ON STREETS ON MAJOR IMPORTANCE WITHIN
THE CITY OF AZUSA.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman McIntire that this Resolution
be adopted as read and numbered Resolution
No. 1467.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr,
Arnold, Chester, Morden.

Councilman Carr offered a Resolution
entitled:
' A RESOLUTION OF THE'CITY COUNCIL OF THE

A PETITION FOR THE EQUALIZATION OF
ASSESSMENTS ON ITS PROPERTY APPLICABLE
TO 1935-36 TAXES.

OF ARTICLE 5, CHAPTER 10 DIVISION 1 OF
THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE.

be instructed to return to Mr. Born the
$12.00 license fee paid by him to operate
a restaurant at 739-41 Azusa Avenue and
to request in return City of Azusa
business license No. 268.

Mr. Kelly, representing the Southern
California Edison Company, addressed the
' Council relative to assessed values placed
by the State Board of Equalization on
property owned by the Company in the City
of Azusa.
