HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6236RESOLUTION NO. 6236 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO THE ENACTMENT OF AB_4131 WHEREAS, AB 4131, as approved by the Assembly, would shift municipal water district elections for directorsthereof from the direct primary election to odd -numbered years, under the Uniform District Election Law; and WHEREAS,such change in.the general district election will increase the cost -to -taxpayers within municipal water districts almost as much as it costs.to operate such districts for an entire year; and WHEREAS, -such additional costs are, in the opinion of this City Council, unjustified and unreasonable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES RESOLVE as follows: Section 1. The opposition of this City to the enactment of AB 4131 and the -reasons therefor have been transmitted by the City Clerk of the City of Azusa to each member of the Senate Committee which will consider approval of said Bill. Section 2.-• The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this.Resolution and transmit a copy thereof to each member of the Senate Committee, requesting their support of the City's position herein.:.
