CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. NOVEMBER 18, 1935. 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular meeting
of November 4, 1935 were read and approved
as read.
Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZ-
ING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE A CERTAIN MEMORANDUM
AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
WORKS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESPECTING
THE EXPENDITURE OF 1/4 CENT STATE HIGHWAY
GAS TAX ON STATE HIGHWAY ROUTES NO. 9 AND
NO. 62 WITHIN SAID CITY OF AZUSA.
Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by
Councilman Carr that this Resolution be
adopted as read and numbered Resolution
No. 1473.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr,
Arnold, Chester, Morden.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Councilman McIntire offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY TO
EXECUTE A CERTAIN MEMORANDUM AGREEMENT
WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESPECTING THE EX-
PENDITURE OF 1/4 CENTGAS TAX ON STREETS
OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE WITHIN SAID CITY.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Chester that this Resolution
be adopted as read and numbered Resolution
No. 1474.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr,
.Arnold, Chester, Morden.
Noes: None.
'Absent: None.
A communication from M. S. Vosburg re-
questing permission be granted the Glendora
' Consolidated Mutual Irrigating Company to
install and maintain a thirty inch pipe
line along the northerly side of Sierra
Madre Avenue throughout the city limits,
was read.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the City Attorney
be instructed to draw an easement granting
this Right of Way and the Mayor and City
Clerk authorized and instructed to execute
same.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr,
Arnold, Chester, Morden.

MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING. NOVEMBER 18, 1935
City Attorney Miller reported on the new
State law requiring parallel parking on
all State Highways and forbidding angle
parking. He stated that Captain Moffit
said that Azusa Avenue was a State Highway
to Crystal Lake and that Foothill Boulevard,
through Azusa, is a State Highway. Mr.
Miller also reported that all City Police
cars'enforcing highway regulations are to
be painted black and white.
' The Associated Telephone Company, Ltd.
offered an APPLICATION FOR A FRANCHISE
FOR TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH SYSTEM IN THE
CITY OF AZUSA, dated November 12, 1935.
Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by
Councilman McIntire that same be accepted
and placed on file and the matter of
Franchise be referred to the City Attorney
to report back at the next regular meeting.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr,
Arnold, Chester, Morden.
Noes: None.

on State laws governing
State Highways.
Application for Franchise
presented by Associated
Telephone Company.
Councilman Arnold reported that he're-
presented Mayor Morden at a meeting
called by Mr. Mellincoff to acquaint the Councilman Arnold
various city governments with the Youth reported on Youth
Administration Project. He stated the Administration Project.
object of the project is to offer employ-
ment to young men between the ages of 16
'and 25 years whose families are registered
on the relief rolls. Planting trees and
work in the park ways was suggested.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Youth Administration
Councilman Carr that this matter be Project referred to the
