The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Roll call. McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden, City Attorney and City Clerk. The minutes of the last regular meeting of Minutes November 18, 1935 were read and approved as read. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Resolution read. Councilman Chester that the following Resolution be read. Whereas there has been erected a monument in the City of Azusa in memory of our City's war dead, and Whereas it has been the practice to use said monument for the purpose of displaying advertisements, Therefore be it resolved that Canyon City Post Inc. #180 of The American Legion Department of California request the Azusa City Council to discontinue giving its permission of said practice. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Chief of Police Councilman McIntire that the City Council instructed to pro - accept this Resolution and the Chief of hibit placing of Police be instructed and authorized to signs on monument. enforce same. Smith City Clerk authorized requesting the privilege of renewing the to instruct Mr. Smith Public Liability Policy for Light and to renew policy for Water Departments, was read. Light and Water Departments. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman McIntire that the City Clerk be instructed to renew this policy with Mr. Smith. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication from the office of County Communication from Counsel Everett W. Mattoon stating that the County Counsel read City of Azusa is indebted to the Health and ordered placed on Department in the amount of $1800 for file. Noes: None. Absent: None Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution entitled: ' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING AND EMPOWERING THE CITY ENGINEER OF SAID CITY TO SIGN RESOLUTION NO.1475 AND FILE AN APPLICATION 'M TH THE WORKS ADOPTED. PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION -NATIONAL YOUTH ADMINISTRATION -FOR A PROJECT TO BE KNOWN AS 'NORTHWEST PARK IMPROVEMENT IN THE CITY OF AZUSA. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Chester that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1475. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester Morden. Noes: None. Atsent: None. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by City Clerk authorized Councilman Chester that the City Clerk be to advertise for bids. authorized to advertise for bids to furnish material for the improvement of certain streets.
