HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6410RESOLUTION NO. 6410 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA FINDING THAT THE PROPOSED ACCESS TO THE SANTA FE DAM RECREATIONAL AREA FROM PECKHAM ROAD IS CONSISTENT WITH THE CITY'S GENERAL PLAN. WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles, in conjunction with the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers, desire to develop a portion of the Santa Fe Dam area as a regional recreational facility; and WHEREAS, the first phase of the development proposes that the access to the recreational facility be from the south end of Peckham Road; and WHEREAS, the recreational facility will be of great benefit not only to the City of Azusa but to the residents of the entire Southern California Region. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Azusa hereby finds that the provision for access to the Santa Fe Dam regional recreational facility from the south end of Peckham Road is consistent with the City's General Plan. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Azusa endorses and supports the Santa Fe Dam regional recreational facility and urges the County of Los Angeles to take that action necessary to widen Peckham Road and First Street and to install the necessary traffic signals in the intersection of First Street and Irwindale Avenue to facilitate access to the regional recreational facility and to accommodate the anticipated increase in vehicular traffic in the area. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and transmit certified copies thereof to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Anqeles.
