The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above 'time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Roll call Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman McIntire. The minutes of the last regular meeting Minutes of December 2, 1935 were read and ' approved as read. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Executive session Councilman Chester that the Council adjourn and enter executive session for a period of ten minutes. At the expiration of this time the meeting was resumed. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Arnold that the form of "Notice of sale of Telephone and Telegraph Franchise." be approved and published in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, with four City Clerk instructed insertions commencing December 19, 1935 and authorized to and ending January 9, 1936 and that the publish notice of sale of bids be ordered opened at a regular meet- Telephone and Telegraph ing of the City Council held Monday Franchise. February 3, 1936 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. ' Absent: Councilman McIntire. A report and recommendation, made by the Report and Recommendation Azusa City Planning Commission, and filed of Azusa City Planning with the City Clerk December 16, 1935, Commission ordered placed relative to the application made by the on file. Azusa Foothill -Citrus Company, requesting a heavy industrial Zone be established in Zone M -R-4 as shown on Zoning map and described in Ordinance No. 294, was read and ordered filed. Whereupon Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION NO. 1476 THE REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION OF THE ADOPTED. ,CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, RECORDING AN AMENDMENT OF SECTION 7 OR ORDINANCE NO. 294 AND/OR OF THE "MAP OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DESIGNATING VARIOUS ZONES DESCRIBED IN ORDINANCE NO. ' 294" ATTACHED TO SAID ORDINANCE. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Arnold that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1476 Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman McIntire. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by •Councilman Carr that the City Clerk be City Clerk instructed to instructed and authorized to return the return check of un - Cashier's Check in the amount of $819.96 successful bidder. to the Asphalt Paving Materials Company. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman McIntire. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Motion ratifying the Councilman Carr that the City Council action of Mayor and City ratify and approve the action of the Mayor Clerk in signing easement and City Clerk in signing an Easement for the Glendora Consolidated Mutual Irrigat- ing Company dated December 4, 1935. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Carr, Arnold, ' Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman McIntire. Mr. Ingram addressed the City Council A. B. Ingram addressed relative to posting signs prohibiting the Council. the picking of flowers growing in the parkway. No action taken. Mr. Bierbower, Rogers and Singleton Mr. Bierbower, Rogers Jr. addressed the Council. No action taken. and W. D. Singleton addressed the Council. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Chester that the following requisitions be allowed: The City Clerk announced that she had Two bids filed in received two bids in answer to the answer to notice. ' notice calling for bids to furnish material to be used on certain streets. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Chester that these bids be now opened, examined and publicly de- clared. • George R. Curtis Paving Company 5000 tons, more or less, of asphaltic concrete (pre -mix) F. 0. B. job in the City of Azusa - Three Dollars ($3.00) per ton, Net Cash, California Sales `Pax included. Asphalt Paving Materials Company 5000 tons, more or less, asphaltic concrete (pre -mix) delivered on streets in City of Azusa - ($3.10) per ton plus State Sales Tax. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Carr that George R. Curtis Bid for furnishing Paving Company be awarded the bid. pre -mix awarded to Carried by the following vote of the George R.
