HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 63710 RESOLUTION NO. 6371 0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA COMMENDING THE AZUSA WOMAN'S CLUB ON THE OCCASION OF ITS SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY WHEREAS, The Woman's Club organized on January 15, 1901, by a little group of far seeing, dedicated American women, only three years after the birth of the City of Azusa, is celebrating its seventy-fifth anniversary, and WHEREAS, our City has been wel I served by several generations of civic minded women who put service to the community before any selfish consdera- tion, and WHEREAS, our Country extolls the virtues of Service and Brotherhood above all others, and WHEREAS, in times of stress and strife, and conversely, in those times of security and ease, The Azusa Woman's Club has remained constant in its chosen roles of Service and Tradition, as well as acting as a touchstone of Friendship, Care and Love in a shrinking world of rapid and often undirected change, and WHEREAS, our City has greatly benefited from the activities of the Azusa Woman's Club; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa profoundly commends the Azusa Woman's Club on this, its anniversary, and extends its deeply felt thanks on a continuing job well done for all the community, remembering well the words of our Lord, "By their works ye shall know them".
