HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 65830 RESOLUTION NO. 6583 0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA COMMENDING POLICE OFFICER HAROLD LINDEN FOR HIS ACTIONS ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY ON OCTOBER 13, 1977• WHEREAS, Police Officers as an integral part of their duty must face perilous situations, and constantly display responsible and flexible professionalism in the midst of rapidly changing conditions, and WHEREAS, Police Officer Linden, on October 3, 1977, very early in the morning, in response to a situation involving a burning structure, with utter disregard for his own safety and welfare, forced the door open and entered, finding two people inside, a disoriented and dazed man, and a young lady lying unconscious on the floor. He carried the young lady and led the man to safety, and WHEREAS, because of his alert and swift actions, both the young girl and her father survived the conflagration and owe their lives to this singularly capable officer, and WHEREAS, Officer Linden's actions far exceed what can be expected of a person facing such a situation, NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa, joins the two individuals directly involved as well as all others aware of the happening, in honoring and commending Police Officer HAROLD LINDEN for the uniquely courageous and heroic actions undertaken by him on that day. Adopted and Approved this 17th day of October, 1977.
