A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA COMMENDING FIRE CHIEF ROBERT TORRANCE
FOR HIS OUTSTANDING EFFORTS ON SEPTEMBER 6, 1977.
WHEREAS, on July 22, 1977, Fire Chief Torrance unselfishly assisted
at the scene of an automobile accident, and
WHEREAS, his assistance, calmly and competently given, resulted
in protecting and probably saving the lives of the injured
persons, and
WHEREAS, considering that on September 6, 1977, notice of the
incident was made and thanks and commendation given to
Chief Torrance by the Chief Engineer of the Los Angeles
Fire Department, Chief Torrance's assistance must have been
highly outstanding to warrant the investigation required
to determine the identity of this singular person who
modestly referred to himself as an "off-duty fireman", and
WHEREAS, the City of Azusa feels deep pride in having a person of
such caliber as ROBERT TORRANCE as a resident as well as
an employee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Azusa recognizing the exemplary actions of Robert Torrance, unites in
warmly applauding his action, and further commends him on his outstanding
competence and unselfish devotion to the welfare of his fellow man.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this3rd day of October, 1977.

the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof,
held on the 3rd day of October 1977, by the following vote of the
Council:
