HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 66670 0 RESOLUTION NO. 6667 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF AZUSA RECOMMEND- ING ACTION BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ADVISORY HEALTH COUNCIL ON THE DESIGNATION OF HEALTH SYSTEMS AGENCY/LOS ANGELES, INC. FOR CERTI- FICATE OF NEED REVIEW WHEREAS, the Health Systems Agency for Los Angeles County, .Inc. , is the second largest of the health systems agencies in the United States; and WHEREAS, the Health Systems Agency for Los Angeles County, Inc., has involved the citizens of Los Angeles County in a health planning effort; and WHEREAS, the Health Systems Agency for Los Angeles County, Inc., has successfully engaged in .its duties pursuant to the Health Planning and Re- sources Development Act; and WHEREAS, the Health Systems Agency for Los Angeles County, Inc., is dedicated to the involvement of local government .in the health planning process; and WHEREAS, the Health Systems Agency for Los Angeles County, Inc., completed a difficult but democratic election process to insure community involvement .in health planning; and WHEREAS, the health care of all people .is a priority of the City of Azusa; and WHEREAS, restraint of health care costs is a goal of the City Council of Azusa; and WHEREAS, the City of Azusa endorses the concepts of health planning by volunteers; THEREFORE be it resolved that the City of Azusa fully supports the application of the Health Systems Agency for Los Angeles County, Inc. , to become the designated Agency to engage .in Certificate of Need Review by the Advisory Health Council. AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Azusa urgently requests the California Advisory Health Council approve the designation of Health Systems Agency/Los Angeles, Inc. at their next meeting. SECTION 1. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 15th day of MA�, 1978.
