HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6660RESOLUTION NO. 6660 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, APPROVING A REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE IN THE AZUSA CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Azusa selected the Project area of and established the boundaries for the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project and approved and adopted a Preliminary Plan formulated for the redevelopment of the Project area; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a resolution in which the Council called for the formation of a Project Area Committee for the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project; and WHEREAS, on April 6, 1978, at 7:30 P.M. in the Civic Auditorium, a duly noticed public meeting was conducted to form a Project Area Committee for the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Pro- ject; and WHEREAS, at said April 6, 1978, meeting the residential owner - occupants, residential tenants, businesspersons, and representa- tives of community organizations in attendance voted to have a Pro- ject Area Committee of twenty-five members, duly elected twenty-one of such members, and determined that the remaining four members. would be appointed by the elected members; and WHEREAS, on April 20, 1978, the Project Area Committee mem- bers determined that the four remaining members to be appointed would be residential tenants to be appointed at a future meeting; and WHEREAS, information has been presented to the City Council by the Project Area Committee relating to representative qualifica- tions of the persons elected or to be appointed as members of the Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the Azusa Central Business District Redevel- opment Project Area Committee.(PAC) consisting of the residential tenants, residential owner occupants, business persons and repre- sentatives of community organizations named on the list of PAC members attached hereto, labelled Exhibit "A" and by this reference made a part hereof, and to further consist of four additional resi- dential tenants to be appointed by the members of the Project Area Committee, is hereby approved as a representative project area com- mittee. SECTION 2. The Redevelopment Agency and its staff are directed to consult with and obtain the advice of the Project Area Committee concerning those policy matters which deal with the planning and provision of residential facilities or replacement housing for those to be displaced by Project activities and other matters which affect the residents of the Project area while preparing a Redevelopment Plan and for a period of three years after adoption of the Plan. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 1St OF May , 1978.
