HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6654RESOLUTION NO. 6654 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ENDORSING CONTINUATION FOR FUNDING OF SENIOR CITIZEN NUTRITION AND SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAM. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Azusa is a community with a population 25,600, 9.9% of this population (2,304) are Senior Citizens, and 20% of the latter (461) are below the poverty level threshold, and WHEREAS, the Mayor's Committee on Aging has indentified transportation and nutrition as two key needs of Azusa Senior Citizens, and WHEREAS, the Azusa Senior Citizens' Nutrition and Social Service Program is a action plan which, upon completion, should resolve these critical needs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa hereby requests that Title VIII funding for critically nee& d service be continued through the Los Angeles County Area Agency on Aging for fiscal year 1973-79 (July 1, 1978- June 30, 1979).
