serious communicable diseases among school -aged
children in the City of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Medical Association has
recognized the severity of this problem and has
been a leader in organized medicine's effort to
conduct a county -wide immunization campaign; and
WHEREAS, a high percentage of our primary and secondary
school students are not adequately immunized
against the dangerous communicable diseases of
Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Tetanus, Polio,
Measles, Rubella and Mumps; and

WHEREAS, by state law, it is mandatory that school children
be vaccinated against these specific diseases,
and documentation must be provided before the
students will be allowed to attend school.

Medical Association and its physician -members for the students
in our school system and their public service action to
immunize our children against the communicable diseases of
Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Tetanus, Polio, Measles, Rubella
and Mumps.
