A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, CALLING FOR THE FORMATION OF A PRO-
JECT AREA COMMITTEE FOR THE PROPOSED AZUSA
CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT REDEVELOPMENT PRO-
JECT AND ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES THEREFOR
WHEREAS., pursuant to the California Community Redevelopment
Law (Health & Safety Code, Section 33.000 et seq.), the Planning
Commission of the City of Azusa has selected the boundaries and
adopted a Preliminary Plan for a redevelopment project from
within Redevelopment Survey Area No. 1 designated by the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the California Community Redevelopment Law requires
that the City Council call upon the residents and existing commu-
nity organizations in a redevelopment project area to form a re-
presentative Project Area Committee ("PAC"), to be approved by
the City Council within 60 days after the redevelopment project
area is selected;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does
hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby calls upon the residents,
existing community organizations and businesses within the proposed
Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project area to form
a PAC and to attend a meeting -on April 6, 1978, at7:30 P.M., in the
Civic Auditorium for the purpose of forming a PAC.
SECTION 2. The City Administrator shall give notice of the
meeting by mailing or delivering a copy of the "NOTICE OF PUBLIC
MEETING FOR FORMATION OF A PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE FOR THE PROPOSED
AZUSA CENTRAL BUSINESS, DISTRICT REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT" attached
hereto as Exhibit "A" to each residence, place of business and
existing community organization within the Project area, and shall
cause a notice of such meeting to be published in the AZUSA HERALD,
a newspaper of general circulation.
SECTION 3. The PAC shall be comprised of not less than 10
nor more than 25 members, and shall include residential owner
occupants, residential tenants, businessmen, and members of exist-
ing community organizations within the Project area. Only persons
who are in one or more of the above listed categories are eligible
to participate in the selection of the PAC members.
SECTION 4. The PAC members shall be selected by vote of
persons attending the meeting of April 6, 1978. After the PAC
members are selected, the members shall select their own Chairman,
Vice -Chairman and other officers. The members shall serve without
compensation.
SECTION 5. The Chairman of the PAC shall attend the City
Council meeting next following the organization of the PAC, and
present a list of members and officers of the PAC together with
such other information as is necessary to permit the City Council
to conclude that a representative PAC has been formed and is en-
titled to City Council approval.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 20th day of March 1978, by
the following vote of the Council:
