HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - April 24, 1936 - CCM CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. APRIL 24, 1936 The City Council of the City of Azusa, met in regular adjourned session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Chester that the bond presented by Thomas L. Munson, for the office of City ' Treasurer, signed by the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company as Surety, dated April 20, 1936, in the amount of $50,000., be approved. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Mr. Munson being present, took and subscribed the constitutional oath of office. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman McIntire that the City Council instruct Mr. Robinson of the Firm of Crenshaw, Diehl & Wright to make a complete audit of the 1911 Bonds now in possession of the City Treasurer. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: 'None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by Councilman Chester that the City Clerk be instructed to have the present City warrants on the City Treasurer changed to checks on the First National Bank of Azusa. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Mr. Nathan's request to furnish towels for the swimming pool was read. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire that same be referred to the Purchasing Committee with power to act. Carried by the following; vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. A communication from Gaylord Templeman, requesting the City's lubrication for the month of May was read. Moved by Councilman Chester, Councilman McIntire that Dr. given the City's work during May. Carried by the following vote Ayes: C uncilmen: McIntire; Noes: Councilman Morden. Absent: Councilman Arnold. seconded by Wheatley be the month of of the Council: Carr, Chester. 7;30 P. M. Roll call. 389: Thomas L. Munson's Bond approved. Thomas L. Munson's oath of office. Mr. Robinson authori- zed to Audit 1911 Bonds. City Clerk instructed to change warrants to checks. M. 391 Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Chester that the following be awarded the City's business for the month of Mayt Foothill Drug - Pete Gonzales Garage - Morgan Hardware - Williams Lumber Yard - Texaco Service Station - Gold Nugget Cafe and C. H. Howard. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Councilman Chester offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING ALBERT H. MILLER CITY ATTORNEY AND FIXING HIS SALARY OR COMPENSATION. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1489. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire and duly carried that the Council adjourn to meet again on Wednesday, April 29th at 7:00 o'clock, P.M.
