HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6856F RESOLUTION N0. 6856 LJ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT REGARDING A CITY MEASURE. WHEREAS, a regular general municipal election is to be held in the City of Azusa, California, on Tuesday, April 8, 1980, at which there will be submitted to the qualified electors of said City the following advisory measure: (ADVISORY VOTE ONLY) SHALL THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA APPORTION THE EXISTING SIX CENTS SALES AND USE TAX SO THAT TWO CENTS RATHER THAN THE PRESENT ONE CENT BE ALLOCATED TO BE USED BY CITIES, COUNTIES AND SPECIAL DISTRICTS? NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That this City Council, being the legislative body of the City of Azusa, hereby authorizes Jens J. Solem Mayor. Robert G. Fry, Mayor Pro -tem Willard R. Decker, Councilman Lucio D. Cruz, Councilman _ Eugene F. Moses Councilman members of said body, to file a written argument in favor of the City Advisory Measure set forth in the recitals hereof in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 5 of the Elections Code of the State of California and to change said argument until and includinq.the date fixed.by,the City Clerk after which no arguments for or against said City Advi.sory'Measure may be submitted to the City Clerk. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED','thi±'17th,day of December, 1979.
