Present at roll call: Councilmen: Roll call. McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden, City Attorney and City Clerk. 397 The minutes of the last regular meeting Minutes approved. of April 20th, the regular adjourned meetings of April 24th and 29, 1936, were read and approved as read. A communication from Richard Graves, Communication read. secretary of the League of California Municipalities, relative to the In Lieu Tax, was read and ordered placed on file. A request made by Frank Sehio to operate Request to operate a wine store at 305 Azusa Avenue, was a wine store read read. and referred to the Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Chief of Police. The Ellis Neon Company offered to service Ellis Neon Company the "Azusa" Neon Sign at the intersection to service Neon of Foothill Boulevard and Azusa Avenue, Sign for x$7.50 at the rate of $7.50 per month. per month. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Carr that the Council accept this offer. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Dr. Brooks addressed the City Council Dr. Brooks relative to the Bond required under addressed the Ordinance No. 284. Council, regarding Ordinance No. 284. ' Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Chester that this matter be referred to the City Attorney to report back at the next regular meeting. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mr. Putnam addressed the Council re- Mr. Putnam lative to the planting of shrubs and addressed the trees on Foothill Boulevard, from the Council. East to the West City limits. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded Mayor appointed Mr. by Councilman Carr that the Mayor appoint Putnam a Committee Mr. Putnam a Committee of one to secure of one to secure the prices on plants and shrubs suitable prices on shrubs. for such planting. At the end of that period the meeting was resumed. Councilman Carr offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE ' CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIF- ORNIA, APPOINTING ALBERT H. MILLER CITY ATTORNEY AND FIXING HIS SALARY OR COM- PENSATION. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1492. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded b3 Councilman Arnold that the following requisitions be allowed: 1455-1456-1457-1458-1459-1460-1461-1462- 1463-1464-1465. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Arnold, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Arnold that the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same.
