HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6844RESOLUTION NO. 6844 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY.COUNCIL OF THE CITY .OF AZUSA HONORING THE MEMORY OF FATHER ALBERT J. DUGGAN. WHEREAS, the Twenty -Third Psalm; in part, says, "Yea', though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me ...... I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.", and WHEREAS, the passing from this mortal plane by ALBERT DUGGAN has, even though he has gone to enjoy the undying fruits of his labors, left us all grieving at the loss of a person of his stature, a person who labored long and mightily in this community to make it a better place in which to live and work, and WHEREAS, his involvement in the City of Azusa spanned more than two decades, beginning in 1950 and ending in 1976, when he retired to a well earned rest. . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa collectively honors his memory and mourns the loss of this outstanding civic and spiritual leader whom, we feel, is surely preparing the way and a place for all who follow. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 15th day of October, 1979. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa, at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 15th day of October, 1979, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None CITY CLERK
