HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6869RESOLUTION NO. 6869 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONVEYANCE OF THE AZUSA WOMAN'S CLUB BUILDING AND DECLARING ITS INTENTION REGARDING OPERATION THEREOF. WHEREAS, the Azusa Woman's Club owns certain real property located at 1003 North Azusa Avenue, Azusa, California, generally known as the Azusa Woman's Club Building; and WHEREAS, the Azusa Woman's Club desires to give said real property together with furniture and furnishings located therein to the City of Azusa for public purposes subject to the condition that if the City ever conveys said property to any public or non-public entity then the title shall revert to the Azusa Woman's Club; and WHEREAS, the City of Azusa desires to accept the gift of the above-mentioned property and wishes to declare its intention relative to the use of said property and the continued availability of said property to the Woman's Club at certain times. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa, California, does hereby resolve, declare, and order as follows: SECTION 1. That the conveyance of the real property together with furniture and fixtures situated thereon located at 1003 North Azusa Avenue from the Azusa Women's Club to the City subject to certain conditions is hereby accepted. SECTION 2. The name on the building located at the above-mentioned address will remain the same "Azusa Woman's Club". SECTION 3. A suitable plaque will be prepared and attached to the building showing the fact of the gift of the property by the Azusa Woman's Club to the City of Azusa. SECTION 4. The City Council hereby declares said property as a local historical landmark. SECTION 5. The building on said property will continue to be available for use by the Azusa Woman's Club every Wednesday during daytime hours for meeting purposes as long as Club is in existence. SECTION 6. Two closets within said building will remain under the exclusive control of the Azusa Woman's Club for storage purposes. SECTION 7. Rentals of the premises by the Azusa Woman's Club to other parties for wedding receptions, and other purposes will be honored by the City through June 1980, with rental fees to be paid to the City. SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of the Resolution.
