HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6866RESOLUTION NO. 6866 0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILL 1983. WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1983 (Felando) adds Section 35157.5 to the Government Code, and it provides for the detachment of inhabited territory from a City when initiated by petition of registered voters of the affected territory and -removes authority in such matters from the Local Agency Formation Commission, and WHEREAS, this bill would permit deannexation from a City at any time a few citizens felt disgruntled and constantly changing boundaries and demand in service capacity would create havoc in the cities and county; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, in order to maintain a coherent and organized system regarding changes in boundaries and attendant requirements, expresses its opposition to Assembly Bill 1983, and further advises the author and other interested parties within the State of California of this opposition.
