HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6945RESOLUTION NO. 6945 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REGARDING SUBDIVISION STREET IMPROVE- MENTS IN UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, all cities in the San Gabriel Valley are under- going tremendous growth in residential development; and WIiEREAS, the adjacent areas within unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County are subject to similar residential growth; and WHEREAS, the cities of the San Gabriel Valley have a consistent policy of requiring the subdivider to provide full street improvements adjacent to a subdivision in conjunction with subdivision approval; and WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Subdivision Ordinance does not require street improvements on peripheral streets for subdivisions; and WHEREAS, the County's Subdivision Ordinance provisions for improvements on secondary major highways was based on the County being obligated to make such improvements with County funds; and WHEREAS, this process is hampered by the lack of County funds for said street improvements; and WHEREAS, these unimproved streets become a burden to the orderly planned growth of the County and adjacent cities; and WHEREAS, the County has prepared a draft amendment to the County Subdivision Ordinance (Ordinance No. 4478) which will address these street improvement problems; NOW, THEREOFRE, the City of Azusa resolves that said proposed amendment to the County Subdivision Ordinance be heard and adopted with all due speed. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of November, 1980. THE CITY OF AZUSA I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 3rd day of November, 1980, by the following vote of the Counil: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem NOES: COUNCII24EN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None CITY/CLERK OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
