HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 7046RESOLUTION NO. 7046 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA HONORING THE SIERRA MADRE SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM. WHEREAS, Always in the forefront of those individuals and groups that provide us, who live in the shadow of the San Gabriel mountains, with that security that comes from knowing these sentinels stand guard over us, giving all who visit the mountains an added measure of safety, is to be found, THE SIERRA MADRE SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM, and WHEREAS, this all volunteer group has been providing outstanding search and rescue service since its inception in 1951; its area of responsibility comprising the mountains from the Eastern terminus of the City of Pasadena to the San Gabriel Canyon, and WHEREAS, in the world of voluntary work, it almost is automatic to add superlatives to any mention of the Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team, because of the continuously excellent service it has provided all who have needed its assistance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa noting the superior qualities of this group, unites in adding its praise to the widespread applause, commendation and honor so freely and gratefully given to the SIERRA MADRE SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM by all who are within its area of protection. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of November, 1981. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 2nd day of November, 1981, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem NOES: COUNCILMEN: Norte ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None P City Clerk
