A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, ENDORSING
THE PERIPHERAL CANAL PROPOSAL ON THE
1982 BALLOT
WHEREAS, in 1985, because of a Supreme Court ruling,
completion of the Arizona Water Project will result in a
60 -percent cut in the amount of Colorado River water available
to Southern California residents; and
WHEREAS, this means that there will be a critical
water supply situation in Los Angeles County unless additional
water sources are developed:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Azusa does hereby endorse the Peripheral Canal
proposal which will be on the 1982 ballot and urges all civic
groups and chambers of commerce in Los Angeles County to
support this important project.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 21st day of September, 1981.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day of September,
1981, by the following vote of Council:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
