HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6995RESOLUTION NO. 6995 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA HONORING THE AMERICAN RED CROSS ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF ITS FOUNDING. WHEREAS, Since May 21, 1881, when it was founded, the American Red Cross, through the vision'of its early leaders, and the skills and dedication of millions, has had its ideals turned into programs of practical service to many people with many needs, and WHEREAS, Mankind greatly required the enhancement of those age old ideals that have inspired the foundation of the Red Cross in the United States and around the world, and WHEREAS, In commemoration of the founding of this universally known humanitarian organization whose motto,"Ready for a New Century", serves as a beacon to those in need; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City.Council of the City of Azusa unites in recognizing and commemorating the founding of this noted and invaluable organization, and furthermore, looking into the future sees it constantly growing to meet increasing demands for assistance as the world continues to shrink and its -population grow. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this'4th day of May, 1981. MAYOR I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 4th day of May, 1981, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Norte CITY CLERK
