A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA APPROVING AND
CONFIRMING THE FINDINGS AND DECISION IN
THE SUSPENSION OF FIREFIGHTER CHARLES H.
CONNELLY.
WHEREAS, the Fire Chief filed charges for
proposed suspension and to deny overtime work for a period
of six months as to Firefighter Charles H. Connelly on
July 30, 1981; and
WHEREAS, the City .Council referred the charges
to the Personnel Board for hearing as provided for under
the Civil Service Ordinance of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Board held hearings on
said charges in which the Fire Chief and Firefighter
Charles H. Connelly were represented by counsel; and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Board on December 1,
1981, filed its findings and decision determining by a
unanimous vote that Firefighter Charles H. Connelly should
be suspended for two twenty-four hour working shifts,
the periods of suspension to be determined by the Fire
Chief.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND ORDER
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The findings and decision of the
Personnel Board dated December 1, 1981, as supplemented by
the Addendum to Findings and Decision dated December 4, 1981,
are hereby ratified, confirmed and approved.
SECTION 2. The City Council specifically finds
that there was no bad faith relative to the proceedings for
the suspension of Firefighter Charles H. Connelly and that
there was sufficient evidence as set forth in the findings to
support the decision of the Personnel Board.
SECTION 3. The suspension of Firefighter Charles
H. Connelly by the Personnel Board for two twenty-four hour
periods is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 18th day of January, 1982

I, HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
duly adopted by the.City Council of the City of Azusa, at a
regular meeting thereof, held on the 18th day of January, 1982,
by the following vote of the Council:
