HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 7204RESOLUTION NO. 7204 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE JOB SPECIFICA- TIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER II THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The job specifications for the classifi- cation of Public Works MaintenanceWorkerII are hereby amended to read in accordance with Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 6th day of December, 1982. Representative Duties Operates trucks and other maintenance equipment. Clears and maintains sewers using special equipment. Cleans and. performs repair work on storm drains and sewers. Assists in building forms for concrete construction; rakes asphaltic concrete and assists in resurfacing of streets with perma- nent and temporary paving materials. Installssigns, assists in finish grading and finishing concrete. Performs any other related duties. Organizational Responsibilities This is the basic semi -skilled worker in the Street Division responsible to a leadworker assigned to a crew of maintenance workers. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience Completion of the tenth grade or.G.E.D. or C.H.S.P.E.; and Two years of experience in the maintenance of streets, storm drains, and sewers. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required educa- tion on a year -for -year basis up to a maximum of two years. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of a variety of semi -skilled jobs in the construction and mainte- nance of streets; mechanical ability and comprehension; ability to work effectively in a small group or alone and without continuous supervision. Knowledge of the safety precautions necessary in working in traffic with hand tools and motorized equipment. Ability to use hand and power tools; to follow oral and written instructions; and properly maintain tools and mechanized equipment and perform heavy manual labor.
