HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 7192RESOLUTION NO. 7192 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA COMMENDING NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH MEMBERS SHIRLEY NGUYEN AND RON LOCKWOOD. WHEREAS, during the evening of September.23, 1982, MS. SHIRLEY NGUYEN and MR. RON LOCKWOODlobserved several persons in their neighborhood exhibiting suspicious behavior. They reported this to the Police Department. Subsequent investigation by the Police resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of two fugitive suspects, and WHEREAS, who would gainsay that our times are troubled and an increase in crime is but one -manifestation of that? Who would gainsay that the concern and cooperative participation by persons like SHIRLEY NGUYEN and RON LOCKWOOD provides protection to us all?, and WHEREAS, The Neighborhood Watch Program of which they are members has once again resoundingly demonstrated its effectiveness in drawing the community together in a united effort to suppress crime. The prevalence of antisocial activity in our midst permits only two options: to passively accept the consequences of anarchy, or to unite and assist our Police in restoring and maintaining law and order; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa highly commends MS. SHIRLEY NGUYEN and RON LOCKWOOD for the invaluable contribution they provided to the well-being and security of our community. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1st day of November, 1982.
