HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 7171RESOLUTION NO. 7171 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS RULE 6.04 h; RULE 20.03; RULE 21.05 AND BY ADDING RULE 7.05. WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Personnel Board a proposed amendment to Civil Service Rules and Regulations to conform with the 1982-83 Memoranda of Understanding; and WHEREAS, The Personnel Board conducted a hearing relative to the proposed amendments and there- after recommended that the amendments to the Civil Service Rules and Regulations be adopted. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Civil Service Rules of the City of Azusa are hereby amended with the following revisions and additions: 'Rule 6.04 h. Salary on Temporary Assignment in Higher Classification. An employee, when temporarily assigned by the department head and approved by the City Administrator,' -to a position in a higher class for a period of more than five (5) consecutive working days, shall receive a salary step increase equal to one range higher than his/her current salary step, effective on the date of assignment. . . ." The remainder of the Rule remains the same. '92ule 20.03. Payment for overtime will be made as follows: "e. (1) The following classifications shall receive double time for callouts after midnight; straight time to resume at 7:00 a.m. in the event callout extends beyond 7:00 a.m.: Line Mechanic Helper, Line Mechanic, Apprentice Line Mechanic, Working Line Mechanic Supervisor, and Electric Line Mechanic Supervisor." r, "Rule 21.05. Holidays. "a. Employees shall receive time off or be compensated for a minimum of eleven holidays per year in accordance with prevailing Memoranda of Understanding. "b. When a holiday falls on a Saturday ;'or Sunday, it shall be observed on the following Monday. "c. Reference: Rule 21.06 for information relative to vacation in lieu of holidays for Public Safety Personnel." Rule No. 7.05. Whenever a job specification sheet requires a high school diploma or GED as a minimum qualification, a certificate of proficiency shall be considered as meeting the City's High School graduation equivalency requirement in accordance with the provisions of Section 48412 of the California Education Code. SECTION 2. This Resolution and the amendments to the Civil Service Rules and Regulations designated herein are effective upon adoption of this Resolution. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. 1982.
