HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 71490 PESOLUTION NO. 7149 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR WATER MAINTENANCE LEADWORKER. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The job specifications for the position of water maintenance leadworker are hereby amended to read in accordance with the provisions of Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately. SECTION 3. The'City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. Representative' Disties Takes the lead-in a small work crew engaged in installing water services, mains, meters, and equipment; does tapping, pipe fitting, and caulking; operates light equipment. and trucks; repairs broken water lines, water main valves, and services; relocates meters and services; changes and raises meters; installs plumbing; cuts pavement; sees that safe and proper work practices are followed by the members of the crew; cleans pump houses and reservoirs and surrounding grounds; maintains records of work per- formed; may.act for the Water Supervisor in his absence or at his direction. May stand a regularly scheduled standby watch. Organizational Pesponsibilites [,Tater ilaintenance Leadworker is a one -position working leadworker class in the Water Utility Division of the Public Works Department. An employee of this class supervises the work of a small crew, and reports to the Water Supervisor. QUALFIICATIONS GUIDE Training and -_Experience graduation from high school, GED Certificate; or CHSPE Certificate; and Four years of experience in water construction and maintenance work at a skilled level. Additional qualifying experience on a year -for -year basis up to a maximum of four years may be substituted for the required education. Knowledge and Abilities Good knowledge of water system mains, services, hydrants, meters and valves; concrete work, pipe laying, and fitting and plumbing; the laying of water pipe and connections, and the construction and maintenance of manholes... Ability to follow engineer's grade, blueprints, and engineering sketches; supervise and work with a small crew;'follow written and oral directions; maintain simple records. Skills Skill in cutting and threading pipe, and in light welding. - using pneumatic and power equipment, Licenses and Certificates alifornia Driver's License Possession of a Grade 2 Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate within six months of appointment to position.
