RESOLUTION NO. 7137

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA COMMENDING JOHN PADILLA FOR HIS
SERVICES TO THE CITY.
WHEREAS, water is an unceasingly precious, life-giving
resource for us in California,. even though bounded in the west by
the vast expanse of the mighty Pacific Ocean, it is as in 'the words
of Samuel Coleridge, "Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink",
deprived of most of that scarce commodity; each diaphanous diadem -like
drop distilled on a dry lip agonizingly wends a trickling path to
our parched throats, aided by unsung persons like JOHN PADILLA,
Water Maintenance Leadworker, whose very name "Jehovah is Gracious"
signifies a whole truth to a thirsty world; water, whose pristine
prism mirrors poignant human activity, which without its crystalline
quaff life itself could not exist, relying as it does on the
capacity of quiet ,and unassuming persons of JOHN'S special abilities
to find its intended use, and
WHEREAS, JOHN who entered into city employment on
May 12th, 1953, has served the city well for almost thirty years,
now passes the baton of service to other hands, able and willing to
undertake the continuation of bringing this aqueous anodyne to an
otherwise arid agglomeration of animate phenomena..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the City of Azusa, unites in commending JOHN PADILLA for his
untiring efforst on behalf of the city and its residents, further, it
wishes the very best of good fortune for him during his richly deserved
life of retirement.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 21st day of June, 1982.
