HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 7102RESOLUTION N0. 7102 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA POSTHUMOUSLY COMMENDING GERALD H. MURRAY FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY OF AZUSA The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, since March 6, 1967, when GERALD MURRAY was appointed to the Planning Commission, until his death on March 12, 1982, he provided that body with all the benefits of well grounded legal knowledge and logic, and WHEREAS, we all now mourn his death for one or more reasons; as an attorney, he stood:%ready to help all in need of his services; this loss we mourn. As a member of the community, he eagerly sought involvement in finding solu- tions to its problems; this loss we'also mourn. As a friend, he gave unselfishly of his understanding and love; there is abundant reason here to mourn this loss. Finally, as a fellow human being who has passed on, leaving behind, forever, this world and all who inhabit it; this loss we mourn most of all, because his death diminishes us who share this gift of life as an evanescent fund that is eventually depleted completely for each and every one of us. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City'Council of the City of Azusa extends its sympathy to., and shares the grief of Gerry's family, and joins in the widespread mourning at.the untimely death of one who will always occupy a singular place in the memory of all who function in the operations of our community; further albeit belatedly, it sincerely commends GERALD H. MURRAY for his untiringly unselfish efforts to make the City of Azusa a better place in which to live. 1982. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 5th day of April, I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day of April, 1982, by the following vote of Council: AYES: COUNCILMEN: NOES: COUNCILMEN: ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem None
