CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. NOVEMBER 2, 1936. 7:30 P. M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen:
Strohmeier, McIntire, Chester, Carr,
City Attorney and City Clerk.
Absent: Councilman Arnold.
The minutes of the regular meeting of
October 19, 1936 and the Special
Meeting of October 29, 1936 were read
and approved as read.
Mr. Munson, City Treasurer and Tax
Collector, appeared before the Council
asking them to honor a bill in favor
of his daughter for $2.75 and one for
Nadine Evans for $9.75 in payment for
work done in making out the tax bills.
The Council told Mr. Munson that pay-
ment for this work was granted, under
protest, and that his office had cost
the City, in the last seven months,
approximately $400. over what it would
have cost under the old set up.
He was instructed by the Council to
begin work on the ta:c bills, next year
in ample time, so that he could get
them out without expense to the City of
Azusa.
Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded
by Councilman Chester that the above
' mentioned bills be allowed.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Chester, Carr.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Arnold.
Roll call.
Minutes approved.
Mr. Munson requested
to pay two bills.
City Council author-
ized payment of labor
bills under protest.
Communications from the Log Angeles County Communication placed
League of Municipalities, eorge N. Hale, on file.
and the City of Los Angeles, were read
and ordered placed on file.
Councilman Arnold entered the meeting
and took his seat.
The matter of signing a contract between
the City of Azusa and the Ellis Neon
Company was discussed.
Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded
by Councilman Chester that same be tabled
until the next regular meeting.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
' Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Chester, Carr.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
A communication from Richard Graves
relative to the "Compilation of Laws for
Cities of the Sixth Class" was read and
ordered placed on file.
Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that Dr. Sandovalls
request to use the Auditorium for a Red
Cross meeting be granted.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:

City Attorney Miller suggested that the City Attorney
