A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA VACATING 194 FEET OF THE ALLEY IMMEDI-
ATELY NORTH OF FIRST STREET BETWEEN ALAMEDA
AVENUE, AND AZUSA AVENUE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Azusa
hereby finds and declares as follows:
A. This vacation proceeding is being conducted
pursuant to Sections 8320 through 8325 of the
Streets and Highways Code.
B. The City Clerk published Resolution No. 7206
in the manner required by Sections 8320 and
8322 of the Streets and Highways Code and
posted notices of vacation in the manner
required by Section 8323 of the Streets and
Highways Code.
C. A hearing was conducted by the City Council on
this vacation on January 4, 1983, at which
time all evidence relating to the proposed
vacation was heard and considered by the City
Council.
D. The City Council finds, from all the evidence
submitted at the hearing, that the easement
for the alleyway described in Resolution No.
and in this Resolution is unnecessary for
present or prospective public uses in that the
alley will be relocated near its present posi-
tion.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Azusa
hereby vacates 194 feet of the City's easement for a public
alleyway located immediately north of First Street between
Azusa Avenue and Alameda Street, and more particulary described
as that certain alley, lying in Block 77 of Azusa, in the City
of Azusa, as per map recorded in Book 15 Pages 93 to 96, inclu-
sive, of Miscellaneous Records, lying Southerly of the Westerly
prolongation of the North line of Lot 16 of said tract, and lying
Northerly of the Westerly prolongation of the Southerly line of
Lot 19 of said tract, provided that the City obtains an equiva-
lent easement for a public alleyway from the owner of the property
east of the subject alley for relocating the existing alley.
A map showing the location of the proposed vacation is attached
hereto as Exhibit "A." Specifically reserved from this vacation
are all existing overhead and underground utility easements.
SECTION 3. The City Council does hereby find and
declare that the vacation of the subject alley described herein
will not have a substantial adverse effect upon the environment
and the Negative Declaration attached hereto as Exhibit "B" has
been prepared in accordance with the California Environmental
Quality Act of 1970, as.amended, and with -the State CEQA Guide-
lines and is hereby approved and adopted by the City Council.
SECTION 4. Upon the recordation of the City's right
to an easement for a public alleyway nearby the existing alley-
way as provided in Section 2 herein, the City Clerk shall
certify a copy of this Resolution and transmit the same to
the County Recorder for recording.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 4th day of January ,
1983.

EXHIBIT "B" Assessment of Environmental Impact
Initial Study
A copy of the Initial Study for Public Works projects will be available to the
public in the Azusa Public Works Department. A copy of the Initial Study for
Planning Department projects will be in the Planning Department.and the Public
Library. Comments.f�om the public on the projects may be made, in writing, to
the respective department directors or at the public hearings for the projects.
Project Description: Vacation of 194 lineal feet of the alley immediately
north of First Street between Alameda Avenue and Azusa
Avenue.
