RESOLUTION NO. 7369
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA HONORING AND COMMENDING
ELSIE VANDALE FOR HER YEARS OF SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF AZUSA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, Cities are mainly thought by the majority to
serve as providers of maintenance, security and
recreational services; there is an additional
one that too often is taken for granted, it is
the one that solely deals with the higher human
faculties; the Library serves as keeper and
distributor of human thought, pragmatic and
abstract, as well as mundane and esoteric; it
stands as the standard of excellence in human
activity, a bulwark against the degenerative
effects of anti -social and purely solipsistic
physical wants and drives, and
WHEREAS, to this, Elsie Vandale came on the twenty-seventh
of April, nineteen hundred and sixty-four. Here
she has performed her duties always in a manner
that brought credit to the City, and
WHEREAS, an innately creative and talented individual,
Elsie brought a timeless quality of intellectual
worth to the Library function, reiterating daily
to all the intrinsic value of that stored and
available treasury of knowledge within the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Azusa joins in commending Elsie Vandale,
and further recognizing the profuse benefits
bestowed on the City and its residents through
her untiring activities over the years, adds its
collective thanks for her excellently performed
service.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 21st day of November, 1983.
