RESOLUTION NO. 7337

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF AZUSA COMMENDING WILLIAM
MICHELLI FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE CITY.
WHEREAS, "Workman", the title is lightly bandied
about without heed, omitting consideration
of what it truly implies, which simply
defined denotes a man who works. On the
face of it, the requirements to fill the
definition are accompanied with off handed
facility; however, looked at with more
care, often, what passes as work is
actually attendance; that the scriptural
admonition to man "In the sweat of thy
face shalt thou eat bread, till thou
return unto the ground..." has evolved
into sweatless and effete activity, this
latter does not describe BILL, a man who
epitomizes all the sterling qualities of
yeomanly care, concern and devotion to duty,
and
WHEREAS, little did BILL when he, as a milk cheeked
lad, skittered heedlessly over the verdant
ground of his childhood in Michigan,.that
the inexorable arms of Fate would eventually
pull him to the City of Azusa, where, from
February 3, 1964 to September 3, 1983, he
enjoyed happy thraldom under its charge and
dominion;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Azusa, in order to mark the retirement of
WILLIAM MICHELLI
from active service to the City, unites in highly commending
him for the outstanding manner in which he performed his
duties; and further wishes him a long and happy retirement
secure in the knowledge that it comes as the fulfillment of
a lifetime of excellent service to others.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of October, 1983.
