RESOLUTION NO. 7326
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE JOB SPECIFI-
CATIONS FOR SENIOR ACCOUNT CLERK
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The job specifications for the classi-
fication of Senior Account Clerk are hereby amended to read
in accordance with Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 19th day of September, 1983.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a
regular meeting hereof held on the 19th day of September, 1983,

SENIOR ACCOUNT CLERK

Under general supervision - performs responsible account record keeping, bookkeeping, and
related clerical activities; assists supervisors in maintaining accounting and auditing
operations; operates office equipment and performs related duties as required.
Representative Duties
Learns and applies general clerical and accounting procedures. Arranges posting media
prior to posting and obtains pre -determined totals; posts, using automated data processing
equipment and/or CRT on-line terminals; debits and credits to payroll records, cash
purchases, accounts receivable, accounts payable, work -in -progress, appropriations, work
orders, general and subsidiary ledgers; proves operations and balances ledgers; makes up
payroll registers, payroll checks, and earning records from prepared data; aids in the
preparation of reports and statements from ledgers; aids in the compilation of posting
media and miscellaneous accounting documents; posts payments received and distributes to
proper funds; balances register or ledger posting assists in the training of clerical
employees. May process employee insurance claims.
Organizational Reponsibilities
Senior Account Clerk is an experienced level class in the Accounting Division of the
Finance Department. This position reports to the Accounting Assistant or a higher
position, and may be assigned to an 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift or an 11:30 a.m to
8:30 p.m. shift depending on departmental need at time of appointment.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school, or G.E.D. Certificate supplemented by courses in bookkeeping;
and
Three years of responsible records -clerical experience, requiring extensive use of
arithmetic and familiarity with bookkeeping or financial records through trial balance.
A knowledge of municipal accounting is desirable.
Knowledge and Abilities
Good knowledge of bookkeeping and financial record-keeping practices and terminology with
particular reference to posting and balancing of accounts; general clerical work, office
methods, and operation of standard office equipment.
Ability to post and proof figures; compare names and numbers, and make arithmetic
calculations with speed and accuracy; follow oral and written directions; learn new
systems and procedures rapidly; maintain cooperative working relations with fellow
employees.
Skills
Typing: 25 w.p.m. Operate various types of adding/calculating machines and automated data
processing equipment and/or CRT on-line terminals.
