RESOLUTION NO. 7325
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE JOB SPECIFI-
CATIONS FOR ACCOUNT CLERK
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The job specifications for the classi-
fication of Account Clerk are hereby amended to read in accor-
dance with Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 19th day of September, 1983.

JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision -- performs varied and responsible clerical, financial record-
keeping, and office work; operates calculators, automated data processing equipment,
and CRT on-line terminals and other office equipment; and does related work as required.
Representative Duties
Learns and applies general clerical and accounting procedures; answers general inquiries
and makes referrals; operates typewriter, calculator, copy machine; inputs to CRT on-
line terminal; may do job costing, work with accounts receivable, accounts payable,
payroll, and subsidiary ledgers, and process employee insurance claims.
Organizational Responsibilities
Account Clerk is the entering level class in the Accounting Division of the Finance
Division of the Finance Department. An employee of this class reports to the Accounting
Assistant or a higher position, and may be assigned to an 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift
or an 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. shift, depending on departmental need at time of appointment.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school, G.E.D. Certificate or equivalent, including or supplemented
by courses in typing and office management; and
One year experience in general clerical office and typing work, with some experience in
bookkeeping and use of automated data processing equipment and/or CRT on-line terminals.
Knowledge and Abilities
Good knowledge of modern office methods, procedures, equipment, arithmetic, and record
keeping.
Ability to perform a variety of clerical work; check records and make comparisons
quickly and accurately; make computations rapidly and accurately; skill in indexing
and filing; work cooperatively with others. Requires high degree of clerical aptitude
and the ability to learn and apply new procedures accurately and consistently.
Skills
Type 25 w.p.m.
Ability to operate various types of adding/calculating machines and automated data
processing equipment and/or CRT on-line terminals.
