HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 72580 • RESOLUTION NO. 7258 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE JOB SPECIFI- CATIONS FOR LINE MECHANIC HELPER THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The job specifications for the classification of Line Mechanic Helper are hereby amended to read in accordance with Exhibit A attached hereto and incor- porated herein by reference. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 16th day of May, 1983. Representative Duties Assists in.the installation of electric transmission lines and fixtures; hands or hoists tools and materials to line mechanic as needed; clears brush and trees for pole locations; digs holes for posts and fills in and tamps dirt around poles; assists in Hoisting and placing poles in holes; drills holes in poles and assembles crossarms; places and bolts lamp standardsand pole equipment; loads and unloads equipment and supplies; assists in keeping tools and equipment in serviceable condition; may drive a truck to the location of work; cleans up after completed jobs; installs wire holders on houses and buildings and dead ends wire to them; cleans transformers, crossarms, and other equipment. Organizational Responsibilities Line Mechanic Helper is the entering level class in the Light and Power Department. An employee in this class is supervised by the Line Mechanic Supervisor, Working Line Mechanic. Supervisor, or a Line Mechanic. LIFICATIONS GUIDE Training and Experience High school gradution, GED or CHSPE Certificate; and One year general maintenance or construction experience. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of the basic principles of electricity; common hand tools and their use. Ability and willingness to learn the line mechanic trade, including climb- ing poles and working with charged lines; to maintain harmonious relation- ships with other people; to understand and follow oral and written direc- tions.
