Campbell be granted permission to operate a taxi and the City Clerk authorized and in- structed to issue a license to Mr. Campbell according to the requirements stated in Ordinance No. 284. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Chester, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication from J. S. Armstrong Communications read. & Son, relative to the special property damage policy carried with them on the Marbelite Electroliers in Tract 8161, was read. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by City Clerk instructed Councilman McIntire that the City Clerk to request bids from ' be instructed to contact the local local Insurance Agents Insurance people and report back at the next regular meeting of the Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire, Arnold, Chester, Carr. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication from Mame B. Beaty, Clerk Communications filed. of the Los Angeles County Board of Super- visors and one from the State Compensa- tion Insurance Fund relative to the in- jury sustained by Manuel Pacheco, were read and ordered placed on file. Moved by Councilman Strohmeier, seconded City Clerk instructed by Councilman Chester that the City Clerk to write Assemblyman be authorized and instructed to write and Senator for this Assemblyman. and Senator for this District, District. requesting their cooperation and support be given Louis Burke and Richard Graves, Legal Counsel and Executive Secretary of the League of California Municipalities. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman McIntire that the City Clerk be authorized and instructed to mail contract and bond to the George R. Curtis Paving Company and when the signed copies ' of same are received to return to George R. Curtis Paving Company the $500.00 check deposited with their bid for 5000 tons, more or less, of asphaltic concrete (pre -mix). Building Inspector Singleton requested that the sheds on the following des- cribed property be condemned as fire hazards: Lot 1, Block 45, 6th and Alameda Ave. Old shack in rear should be condemned and torn down. Owner - Mr. Muscovitz. South half of Lot 32, Block 54, between 4th and 5th Streets on Angeleno Ave. 47 RESOLUTION NO. 1513 ADOPTED. Roscoe Moss Company granted bid for drilling a well. City Clerk instructed to return $500. check to George R. Curtis Paving Compa:y. Azusa Amusement Parlor granted per- mission to install another pool table. T. A. Old Shed in rear should be condemned and torn down. Owner - Mrs. Cassey. Two buildings partly burned should be condemned and torn d -own on Lots 18 and 19 in Block 77, First and Alameda Ave. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this matter be referred to the City Council as a Committee of the Whole to act with the Building Inspector and Fire Chief. Martin wishes to build a 12 Unit Court on the North 1/2 of Lot631 and 32, Block 54 with 2 Units now stand- ing. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this matter be referred to the Planning Commission. The General Petroleum Company filed a bid to furnish the City with gasoline for the year beginning January 1937, for 121.E per gallon. Moved and carried that this bid be placed on file. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by Councilman Chester that the City Clerk be instructed to ask Judge J. 0. Durrell to submit to the Council a monthly report giving a summary of the Docket.
