CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. JANUARY 18, 1937. 7:30 P. M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa
met in regular session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Roll call.
Strohmeier, McIntire, Chester, City
Attorney and City Clerk.
Absent: Mayor Carr and Councilman
Arnold.
Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded Councilman Chester

Parade, were read and ordered placed on
file.
Councilman Arnold entered the meeting and
took his seat at the Council table.

Three bids to furnish the City with gas-
oline, were supplied by Signal Oil Company,
Standard Oil Company and Associated Oil
Company.
Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that the Mayor Pro
tem and City Clerk be authorized and in-
structed to sign contracts with above men-
tioned companies and with the General
Petroleum Company, whose bid was submitted
to the Council January 4, 1937.
Carried by the following vote of the
Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester.
Noes: None.
Absent: Mayor Carr.

the City of Azusa and

The monthly report on Justice Court Docket Reports filed.

the report on business licenses submitted
by Paul Smith, were presented.
Moved and carried that these reo_orts be
accepted and placed on file.
r. J. Harold Brooks presented a bill of

Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by
City Clerk authorized
Councilman Strohmeier that the City Clerk

16, 1936 whereby no one was to have City
business until they had first paid their
City business license fee.

' Councilman Strohmeier offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIF-
ORNIA, DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO DIS-
MISS WITH PREJUDICE CASE NUMBER 6 ON THE
DOCKETS OF THE CITY COURT OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA IN 17HICH CASE SAID CITY IS PLAINTIFF
AND CLIFFORD 0. FIEDLER IS DEFENDANT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK. TO ACCEPT THE
SUM OF $72.00 FROM SAID FIEDLER BY WAY OF
LICENSE FEES AND IN SETTLEMENT OF SAID
CASE.
No further action taken.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by
Councilman Strohmeier that Jack Pierce,
Superintendent of Light and Water be
authorized and instructed to sign a con-
tract between the City of Azusa and the
Roscoe Moss Company and that the blayor Pro
tem may approve same over his signature
' and the City Clerk attest same, and in-
asmuch as there is no material difference
between the 3 foot casing lenghts and 4
foot casing lengths mentioned on Page 3
of Specifications as shown by the verbal
report of the Superintendent of Light and
Water, the amendment on Specifications is
authorized so as to permit the using
either 3 foot or 4 foot lenghts so long
as the work is done in accordance with
the specifications.

Ayes: Councilmen: Strohmeier, McIntire,
Arnold, Chester.
Noes: None.
Absent: Mayor Carr.
Mr. Putnam addressed the Council relative
to petition for beautification of the
City. No action taken.
Chief of Police Bierbower reported that
Patrolman Lovelace is improving. It
' was agreed that the matter of Mr.
Lovelace's Compensation be taken up on
February 1, 1937.
Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by
Councilman Arnold that the following
requisitions be allowed:
