RESOLUTION NO. 7496
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA CERTIFYING THE NEGATIVE
DECLARATION FOR THE GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT
PROVIDING FOR THE INCLUSION OF A COMMUNITY
DESIGN ELEMENT
WHEREAS, an Initial Study of Environmental Impact
and a Negative Declaration have been prepared for the
proposed amendment to the General Plan of the City of Azusa
for the inclusion of a Community Design Element and said
Initial Study and Negative Declaration were prepared in
accordance with the provisions of the California Environmental
Quality Act and the State CEQA Guidelines;
WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held
by the Planning Commission for the City of Azusa on April
18, 1984 and before the City Council on May 21, 1984
at which time evidence was heard on the proposed amendment
and the Negative Declaration;
WHEREAS, prior to approving the amendment, the
City Council of the City of Azusa considered the Negative
Declaration together with any comments received during
the public review process;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa
hereby finds and determines that on the basis of the Initial
Study and any comments received in the public review process
that there is no substantial evidence that the project
will have a significant effect on the environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Azusa that the Negative Declaration for
the amendment to the Azusa General Plan for the inclusion of
a Community Design Element is hereby certified and approved
and determined that this Negative Declaration shall filed
with the County Clerk of the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 1. The City Clerk shall certify to
the adoption of this resolution.

1984.

objectives for the Community's general appearance
which serves to give direction to private developers
in the design of their projects.
5. Identification of Environmental Setting:
The project consists of a General Plan Amendment (addition
of a Community Design Element) and Design Review Ordinance,
both of which will apply throughout the City. The City is
over 908 developed with urban uses.

INITIAL STUDY
A copy of the Initial Study for Public Works projects will be available
to the public in the Azusa Public Works Department. A copy of the initial
study for the Planning Department projects will be in the Planning
Department and the Public Library. Comments from the public on the
projects may be made, in writing, to the respective department directors
or at the public hearings for the projects.
Project Description:
To establish criteria by setting principles and
objectives for the community's general appearance
which serves to give direction to private developers
in the design of their projects.
