HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 74710 0 RESOLUTION NO. 7471 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ORDERING THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY IDENTIFIED AS "SOUTHERLY ANNEX- ATION DISTRICT 86" TO THE CITY OF AZUSA, PURSUANT TO THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT OF 1977. WHEREAS, a resolution of application for the proposed annexation of certain territory, identified as Southerly Annexa- tion District 86" to the City of Azusa was filed with the Execu- tive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977 (Part 2, Division 2, Title 4 (commencing with Section 35000) of the Government Code); and WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission on February 22nd, 1984, adopted Resolution 1984-19 approving said annexation, designating the City Council of the City of Azusa as the conducting authority, and directing the City Council to initiate annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, the City Council on March 5, 1984, adopted Resolution No. 7440 initiating proceedings for annexation and set the hearing on said annexation for April 16, 1984; and WHEREAS, notice of hearing on the proposed annexation has been given as required by law; and WHEREAS, this is the time and place fixed for the hearing on said annexation, the Local Agency Formation Commission's resolution making determinations has been summarized, and all protests have been heard and considered; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City Council finds that written protests filed and not withdrawn represent 0 percent of the voting power of voters entitled to vote within the subject territory and 12.5percent of the number of landowners owning 1.4 percent of the assessed value of land therein. 2. The City Council finds the proposed annexation will be in the interest of the City of Azusa and the Consolidated Fire Protection District and the landowners and present and future inhabitants thereof. 3. The annexation identified as "Southerly Annexation District 86" to the City of Azusa, the boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein, is approved and ordered without an election. 4. The foregoing resolution was adopted and approved by the City Council of the City of Azusa on the 16th day of April, 1984. E};hY, 0 DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED "SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 86" TO THE CITY OF AZUSA (As Modified by the Local Agency Formation Commission) Beginning at the intersection of the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of Tract No. 21735 as shown on map filed in Book 589, pages 64 and 65 of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, and a line parallel with and 30 feet westerly of the center line of Citrus Avenue as said center line is shown on said map, said intersection being a point in the boundary of the City of Azusa as same existed on November 17, 1983; thence easterly along said prolongation and southerly line to the northwesterly corner of Tract No. 37093 as shown on map filed in Book 945, pages 8 and 9 of said Maps; thence southerly along the westerly line of said last mentioned tract and its southerly prolongation to that certain defined center line of Arrow Highway having a bearing of N 890 07' 52" W as shown on said last mentioned map; thence westerly along said certain defined center line to said center line of Citrus Avenue; thence westerly along a line parallel with and 20 feet northerly of the south line of the southeast quarter of Section 2, Township 1 South, Range 10 West, S.B.M., to its first intersection with an angle point in the existing boundary of the City of Azusa (in r 0 DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED "SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 86" TO THE CITY OF AZUSA (As Modified by the Local Agency Formation Commission) (Continued) Arrow Highway); thence northerly along said last mentioned boun- dary and following the same in all its various courses to the point of beginning.
