HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 74660 RESOLUTION NO. 7466 u A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROCLAIMING APRIL 24, 1984 AS DAY OF THE TEACHER. WHEREAS, the celebration of the DAY OF THE TEACHER each year provides an opportunity to observe that day with appropriate attention, and WHEREAS, all public schools and educational institutions shall observe this day with suitable exercises commemorating and directing attention to teachers and the teaching profession, and WHEREAS, the DAY OF THE TEACHER was enacted and approved by the Governor on September 10, 1982, and proclaimed a law, SB 1546, Montoya, and WHEREAS, April 10, 1984, has been set aside by law to be the DAY OF THE TEACHER, and WHEREAS, the City of Azusa salutes the Azusa teachers and recognizes the contributions teachers make to our citizens, past, present and future; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of the City of Azusa takes pleasure in joining with the schools and the community in honoring the contributions of teachers, and urges everyone in this and surrounding cities to join in the celebration of DAY OF THE TEACHER on April 24, 1984. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of April, 1984.
